Many companies within our Industry are raising money this year to coincide with the ‘Year of the Seafarer’, which is the theme for this year’s IMO World Maritime Day.
David Savage, our previous SIRE Training and Development Manager will be embarking on a brand new cycling challenge at the beginning of September.
Dave will be cycling 60 towns in 60 days, with one aim - to raise funds for the Apostleship of the Sea (a frontline service for the support of seafarers). Leg one of the round-Britain bike ride will commence from the port of Hull, on 3rd September.
We would like to invite supporters to join him in this challenge, picking up the route where they can. Riders are free to join and leave the ride as they wish. You could even turn up along the route to cheer Dave on! For the full route, click on this link http://apostleshipofthesea.org.uk/cms/downloads/Map%20page%20A4.pdf
If you would like to join in please contact either Dave himself (wingfieldmarine@gmail.com)
or Rebecca Harrison at OCIMF (Rebecca.harrison@ocimf.com).

John Hughes, our former Director, will be taking part in the inaugural Flying Angel Ride on Sunday 3rd October on the Isle of Wight.
Alongside company teams, individuals and families, John will complete the 75 mile ‘round the island’ route in aid of The Mission to Seafarers.
The Mission to Seafarers will be raising funds to help care for seafarers at home and abroad, wherever and whenever need is greatest.
Registration for this ride is open to all. If you would like more information or would like to participate please contact David Peters, Events Officer (david.peters@missiontoseafarers.org).
If you would like to sponsor John, please contact Rebecca Harrison at OCIMF.
